Fiat 131 Engine

The croma engine dident fit, so I bought an Fiat 131 engine.

It diddent fit on the fso 4-speed gearbox.
I have an 5-speed 131 gearbox an one fiat 124 5-speed gearbox.

How can i get them to fit..? Please help....

You mean spark plugs?

I think that Iskra od even Brisk(PAL) spark plugs are good as other, like Bosch, Champion or NGK.

Hi how much is possible to get down the head(or block) and what compression ratio it does?

I´m afraid I didn´t understand well.
So I´m really near to disassemble engine.

I understand that itś not good to get the head down. But what means "to buy high compressions"?

Do you mean the gearbox? Itś really smaller. I have 2107 gearbox with 5 speeds. Itś also possible to use 131 gearbox into lada but it´s a little bit shorter (so you need use first part of cardan from 131) and it has starter on the other side of the box and you have to magnify tunnel for 131 gearbox´. So it´s possible in the other way as well I think. And there´s one improve of hydraulic controlled connection between engine and gearbox (I don´t know the right word in english. It´s "spojka" in czech).


So what´s the popular improvement of 131 DOHC engine?

I have some new questions about the engine and gearbox.

Did the engine fit right on the originally engine mounts?
Did the 5-speed gearbox fit with the originally propeller shaft?

Its the brown 125p i am putting the 131 1600cc engine in. I am still wondering about the engine mounts, and the propeller (drive) shaft...? Anyone know?

I also have one blue 1974, 125p. For this car i have other plans. I hope to put one ritmo abarth 130tc engine under the hood! But that is after the brown one are finished!

Please help with the brown. I promise to update recent with fresh pictures of the project!

Is it possible ro upgrade from 1600DOHC to 2000DOHC using bigger stroke? 1600 is 84 x 71 I mean and 2000 is also 84 but x 90. Does it pass on 1600 block? Is it possible to use the same head etc?
